Plastic Menace due to mixed waste!

Most of our cities do not have proper system for the collection of segregated waste. Hence, the mixed waste collected by Municipality goes to landfill. Very little amount of waste is being recovered by the garbage picker for recycling. The valuable waste is being collected by pickers or different agencies but the Non-Valuable plastic waste (like polythene bags, grocery packaging, wrappers of biscuits, namkeen, chocolates etc.), which is a big amount, still goes to landfill or can be seen lying along the roadside, in open places, in drains, in different water bodies etc. They block the city’s drainage system, pollute the soil and water. Sometimes people ignorantly collect and set them to fire releasing poisonous gases, polluting the air. Many times these plastic bags are being chewed and eaten by stray animals like cows, dogs causing their ultimate death.

Eco Savera’s Solution to Dry Waste

To deal with the existing waste problem in our City the key is “Waste Segregation at the Source of Generation”. Eco Savera runs a dry waste collection van which collects dry waste from different schools, colleges, shops, societies and individual houses of Faridabad. We collect dry waste especially the one going to landfill in clean state so that it can be further send for recycling or reuse. For this purpose, we have placed specially designed DRY WASTE COLLECTION BINS free of cost in some Schools, Colleges, Campuses and Public Places. These bins are constructed by Eco Savera in limited numbers using the Donation money. Residents and shopkeepers store their dry waste in their houses and hand it over to Eco Savera Van.

The Van brings the collected dry waste to our mini MRF (Material Recovery Facility) Center. At the MRF center this dry waste is further segregated into different categories. The segregated dry waste is baled using a Baler Machine and stored. When the required amount of waste is collected then it is further send for processing through EPR.
