About Eco Savera

The journey of Eco Savera is more than just work for us; it’s an emotion. It’s not about money, but about serving Maa Bharati and Maa Prakriti. It’s not a headache, but a passion. This journey is not just of Mrinalini or Pooja, but of every gem they picked up along the way, each one becoming a cherished member or volunteer. Together, we form “The Eco Savera Family”.

Eco Savera is a Non Profitable and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with its head office based in Faridabad, Haryana. We aim at devising and implementing a master plan for Urban Solid Waste Management. We largely work upon non-valuable Dry Waste Management and Wet Waste Management by spreading awareness among the people regarding waste segregation and provide them with sustainable solutions. Slowly but steadily we are transforming attitudes of residents with our ideas and easy solutions. We are committed to the mission of transforming our city into an Environment Friendly SMART CITY.

Eco Savera team selflessly work together to make our motherland a clean, green and environmentally beautiful place to live. Our members specialize in different areas and come from different background but each one has a passion to serve Maa Prakriti. We have a team of representatives all over the city who takes responsibility of our dry waste pickups, aware people about waste management practices and monitors the implementation of Eco Savera activities in their areas. Other members support us physically and financially for our projects.

This organization belongs to everyone who wants to do something about the waste management in their areas and are willing to adopt small but effective waste segregation techniques in their day to day life.

Our Story

Our journey begins with a group of ladies who felt that it is very difficult and unhealthy living in a city with heaps of Garbage on roads, empty plots, dumpyards and mountains of waste surrounding the city. The situation become worse in rainy season when all the drainage system is choked and water logging everywhere makes the lives of the citizens come to a halt. The garbage heaps emit foul odour and become breeding grounds for viruses and bacteria spreading deseases.

Mr. Sunita(Pooja) Bahl, an M.Sc.(Zoology), a B.Ed. Degree holder, an M.Phil in Environmental Science and formerly a Post Graduate teacher for over 8 years living in Indraprastha Colony, Faridabad started working on the increasing waste problem in her area together with other ladies in year 2014. After their extensive study about the increasing waste and its solutions they came to the conclusion that the only ‘Key to Waste Managements’ is “Waste Segregation at the source of Generation”. They worked hard to create awareness on the importance of waste segregation in schools, colleges, market places, societies and residential areas. They also conducted workshops for domestic helpers, garbage vendors, garbage pickers etc.

Ms. Mrinalini Gupta, a former CEO of a Travel Company, left the Company with a feeling of concerned citizen and her primary responsibility to have a clean and green city. In the process she successfully implemented some zero waste practices in Tata Yard at Lauls Lmt. Faridabad. The Yard not only have an office but also has under its wing a labour colony, school, pantry and dispensary.

In order to increase more awareness Ms. Pooja Bahl with her team and Ms. Mrinalini Gupta took another project of ‘SurajKund Mela’ in 2020. With the Help of MCF team and with the support of Surajkund Mela Management they worked to make Surajkund Mela Food Court zero waste. This was a big test and achievement for them. The success of the project led to a deeper level of confidence and trust among them and laid the foundation for creation of “Eco Savera” on October 7th 2020 with Ms. Pooja Bahl as Founder and Ms. Mrinalini Gupta as Co-Founder of the trust.

Since then, it was never looking back. The two founder members worked as Master Trainers with MCF in ’Banega Swatch Faridabad’ Campaign for Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 26 and 27. Many other members also contributed as wards trainers. In co-ordination with like minded people and some RWAs Eco Savera started working extensively on Non-Valuable dry waste including plastic wrappers and packaging known as MLP(Multi Layered Plastics), which contribute a fairly good amount in city waste. For this, we have a Dry waste collection Van, a mini MRF center to segregate, bale and send the waste for further processing through EPR. We also do wet waste community composting and horticulture waste composting in areas where the RWAs provide us with a small piece of land to do so.

It’s been a long journey, and this is our story…

We ran and walked, but we never stopped.

We won and lost, but we never failed.

At times, we succeeded; at times, we did not, but we never gave up.

We laughed and cried, but we stayed together.

Our motive was always singular:

“Find the solution.”

 Sometimes we received help;

other times, we were taken advantage of,

but our energy never waned. Every step was a lesson learned.

 Today, we feel complete.

From awareness to collection,

From transportation to solution,

From segregation to packaging,

And finally, turning waste into energy.

The seemingly worthless, non-decomposable, unresolved waste now has a solution with us.

We ensure it reaches the end of its life journey.

But we can only help those who are willing to help themselves.

Take responsibility for your own waste, and Eco Savera will do the rest.
